DVM, DABVP
Dr. Yvonne Stemwedel is the proud owner of Adobe Animal Hospital. She graduated from UC Davis Veterinary School in 1994. She purchased Adobe in 2011 and oversaw the construction of and the move into our new state of the art hospital building in 2016.
Chances are she won’t mention it, but Dr. Stemwedel is one of a very small group of specialists who earn the Diplomate title from the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners. ABVP Diplomates have to prove expertise above and beyond what is required to practice veterinary medicine. Additionally, she has earned the privilege to specialize in the treatment of dogs and cats.
Dr. Stemwedel has studied veterinary ultrasonography extensively and particularly enjoys this part of her practice. She and the team at Adobe also focus on veterinary dentistry. Together they have helped hundreds of pets to have healthy, pain-free mouths.
Dr. Stemwedel is committed to your pet’s well being. She is a Fear Free Certified Professional and certified in Low Stress Handling, and in 2012, she made Adobe the very first certified Cat Friendly Practice in Petaluma.
VMD
Dr. Matt Dekleva was the first associate veterinarian to join Adobe Animal Hospital in 2016. He is originally from Pennsylvania. He has a Masters degree in Animal Science, and received his veterinary doctoral degree from the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Dekleva is a skilled surgeon, and also focuses on endoscopy and ultrasound at our practice. He shares our passion for taking the very best care of your pets.
Outside of work he can be found spending time with his family enjoying the great outdoors.
DVM
Dr. Katerina Kidwell graduated from UC Davis Veterinary School. She is a native Californian and raised goats and cattle in addition to her family pets. Her veterinary career has led her to special interests in internal medicine, dentistry and soft tissue surgery. Clients appreciate her communication skills, thoroughness, and calm rapport with their pets. Outside of the office she can be found cheering for her triplet sons’ (yes, that’s right) sports teams, hiking, and gardening.
DVM
Dr. Sarah Powers received her DVM degree from Oregon State University and has been practicing in Sonoma County since 2002. She is skilled in canine and feline internal medicine and enjoys building relationships with patients and their families from the first visit on through to their senior years. Sarah is married to a large animal veterinarian and so together they care for all the creatures great and small.
Hospital Manager
Lenora began working at Adobe in 2005, and continued when Dr Stemwedel took over the practice in 2011. Her dedication to our clients and their pets is phenomenal and she is part of the heart of our practice. She keeps our whole team running smoothly every day.
